Levi’s® Vintage is proud to bring back the iconic 1930’s Menlo jacket, made famous by Einstein. The brown leather original reissue from Spring 2018 was a replica of the one that Albert Einstein wore. The Levi’s® Menlo Cossack Jacket, purchased in 2016 at a Christie’s auction, is evocative of Einstein’s formative years in the United States in the 1930s, when he and his work first gained widespread attention.
This reimagining of Einstein’s alias jacket builds on the popularity of the 2018 copy. Maybe the professor had a covert guise as a vigilante who rode the streets of the city at night. He would have preferred a black version of his beloved vintage leather jacket 1930s for this occasion.
Included in Einstein’s “disguise” is a duplicate Christie’s auction paddle, numbered “97,” with two eye holes carved out of it.

This vintage item from Levi’s Vintage embodies the brand’s commitment to quality and unique design. Thanks to Daniel Craig’s portrayal of James Bond in the 2012 film “Skyfall,” the 1930s-era Menlo has won over a whole new audience. The sheepskin leather used in its construction is naturally distressed and has a buttery finish, making this an exceptional item. The jacket is fully zip up, with two front pockets with vents, a stand up collar, and a matching polyester inner.
After being worn by Daniel Craig in the James Bond movie “Skyfall,” the 1930s Menlo gained a legion of new fans. Sheepskin leather was used in its construction because of its unique characteristics, including its ability to age gracefully and its supple feel in the touch. The jacket has a full-length zipper, two vents at the chest, a stand collar, and a polyester lining to match.
Levi’s Vintage Clothing has released another amazing leather piece in their Menlo collection. According to LVC’s Miles Johnson, who spoke with GQ about butterscotch leather jackets, “most were manufactured from soft cow skin,” placing the jacket’s genesis in the 1930s. The clothes were described as being “slim and basic,” with colors of black and brown. My Menlo feels like an extension of my body after a week of regular use. The cossack collar is of the ideal form and weight; it does not droop and it does not irritate my face. This jacket is the ideal length and style (hitting just below the belt line). I have finally found a spring leather jacket. You’ve found it.
In SkyFall, James Bond (Daniel Craig) dons a brown Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1930s Leather Jacket. When Bond wants to go for a more gruff appearance, he puts on the jacket (stubble beard, casual wear).
Two front pockets, a collar that can be folded down, a zippered front, a vented back, adjustable side tabs, and belted cuffs are just a few of the features of this jacket made from 100% sheepskin leather and lined with 100% polyester. A Levi’s design from the 1930s served as inspiration for this style. This jacket is sometimes referred to as the “Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1930s Distressed Leather Jacket” because of the “worn” appearance of the leather.
From the 1870s all the way up to the present day, Levi’s Vintage Clothing collection faithfully recreates the looks and feel of garments from a variety of different eras, including this men’s 1930s leather jacket.
H.Lee Waters shot a short film in the area in 1939, and it was shot in the White Oak Mill. The video was a perfect representation of the unique culture and personality of Greensboro’s natives. Levi’s Vintage Spring/Summer 2012 Collection is a tribute to the hard-working, denim-wearing, cotton textile community.
